The importer received the peppers from a single grower in Mexico. The implicated peppers have been recalled.
The patient count for the Cyclospora outbreak in those states stands at 21,393 cases.
State officials said the evidence gathered so far suggests the contaminated food item was also served at other Mexican-style restaurants.
