Hong Kong outbreak analysis reveals growing role of norovirus

An analysis of outbreaks over a decade in Hong Kong has revealed the growing prevalence of norovirus-related raw oyster outbreaks.

From 2016 to 2025, Hong Kong recorded 1,964 outbreaks affecting 7,758 people. Most of them were small in scale, with 88 percent involving five or fewer cases.
